I told my wife after leaving this was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Very disappointed in the customer service from the owner and the staff. What should have been a simple miscommunication easy to resolve was instead handled in an accusatory and very unprofessional manner.

Background: We reserved a high tea 11 days before the event and they took our credit card info. We did not receive a confirmation email until 3 days before the reservation, and within 4 hours I responded asking if we could cancel or reschedule the reservation. We were told we were now 3 days past the cancelation date and we would be charged the entire amount even if rescheduled.

We did NOT confirm we would cancel after hearing this news, Tipple and Rose NEVER sent us an email that they canceled our appointment.

To our surprise, when we arrived we were told that our reservation had been canceled. They told us we did not confirm we would be coming and they had no table or food for us. They assumed since we asked about rescheduling that we were canceling and made it clear they wanted us to leave without being seated or being served while still paying full price.

We suggested that we just reschedule since we had already paid full price and we were physically here for our reservation. There was clearly a miscommunication. Doria refused. They did not want to work with us at all. We understand that if there was some confusion they wouldn't have the table for us, but to keep bringing up that we should have confirmed in an accusatory tone was very unnerving.

After being very upset and refusing to leave since we paid full price for a reservation that we were there for, the owner finally agreed to let us sit at a non-high tea table and receive the same food and tea as the high tea.

We decided to make it a good time after being seated, but one of the wait staff brought it up to us again and again that we should have confirmed that we would be coming. After that, while we were still enjoying our conversation and drinking tea, we were given the check and within a couple minutes they came back for the card making us feel very rushed. We were still within the 1.5hr reservation window that T+R provides.

After being seated we were very pleasant to the staff and still gave a proper 20% tip - we understand the restaurant industry is very hard. But we're writing this review because of how much they made it seem like it was completely our fault and kept bringing it up after we were seated. We have been there a few times before and my wife loved the place; however, we're very disappointed because of how this was handled.

Only reason for 2 stars is for the tea and food.
